Zenta Vitands

Died March 13, 2005 in Three Rivers, MI. Mrs. Vitands was born October 3, 1907 in Lizums, Latvia, the daughter of Janis and Emma Ievans and had lived in Kalamazoo since 1949. Prior to her retirement, she was employed for several years at Borgess Medical Center. She loved sewing and doing handicrafts. She was a member of the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran United Church of Kalamazoo where she had been a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and the Ladies Handicraft Group. Mrs. Vitands was preceded in death by her husband Verners Vitands in 1982 and by a brother Janis Ievans. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Egils and Ruta Vitands of Lisle, IL and by several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11:00 o'clock on Thursday at the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran United Church, 122 Cherry Hill, with the Rev. Biruta Puike officiating. Interment in Riverside Cemetery.
