Veronica Girard

Veronica J. Girard, 85, passed away December 11, 2008 at Manor Care Nursing Home in Kankakee IL. She was born January 29, 1923 in Chicago IL. to Nathaniel and Lydia (Patnaude) Pommier. She married Roland Girard September 15, 1945 at St. Rose Catholic Church in Kankakee. Mrs. Girard was a music teacher at the Marquette Conservatory in Kankakee. She also worked at Veronda's Music Store for 18 years, Grecians Music Store for 18 years, and taught private organ and piano lessons. She retired in 1986. Mrs. Girard was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church and she was also a member of the church choir.She is survived by her husband of Manteno,one daughter; Karen Girard of Beaverville IL., two sons and one daughter in law; Vernon Girard of Bourbonnais and Vincent and Denise Girard of Manteno. She is also survived by one brother and sister in law; Leon and Katherine (Katie) Pommier of Bourbonnais, one sister in law; V. Marlene Sullivan, 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one infant daughter; Cleone Girard and one great grandaughter; Reannon Cruz.
