Vernon Bert Bertrand, age 65, of Kankakee, IL. passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, IL. Bert was born on November 6, 1944 in Kankakee, IL. to Roland and Katherine Bertrand. He was a truck driver having worked for Crown Cork and Seal and most recently for the Daily Journal. Bert served his country in the United States Army and was part of the morning coffee group at the former Dunkin Donut in Kankakee, IL.Bert is survived by his wife Tina Bertrand of Kankakee, IL., his children; Troy (Beth) Bertrand of Kankakee, IL., Tami (Rodney Spiezio) Brinkman of Limestone, IL., Tim Bertrand of Florida, and Paul and Andy Bertrand, his step-children; Kimberly George, Steven Bosman, and Sean Russell all of Kankakee, IL., his sister Ardell Morrow of TN., his step-sister Susan Stoner of Palos, Heights, IL., his grand children Malayna Bertrand, Rene Bertrand Beauchemin, Taryn Brinkman, Tobie Brinkman, Brianna Kelly, and Devonte George, and his dear friends Barb and Jim Soucie.
