Timothy J. Lenderink, age 82, of Kalamazoo, passed away peacefully at home under the compassionate care of hospice. Born on December 24, 1941, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Timothy was the son of Andrew "Rodney" and Lois (MacDonald) Lenderink. A graduate of University High School in Kalamazoo, Timothy pursued his passion for business at Western Michigan University, earning his bachelor's degree. He went on to enjoy a successful career as an insurance salesman, retiring from SDM&G after many dedicated years of service. On August 18, 1962, Timothy married his high school sweetheart, Sharon Tobias, beginning a beautiful journey of love and partnership that spanned over six decades. Timothy had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and cherished time spent with family and friends. He was an avid golfer and a founding member of The Moors Golf Club, where he made countless memories over the years. A devoted community member, Timothy was actively involved in organizations such as AMBUCS, the Y Men's Club, and the Boys Club, leaving a lasting impact on many lives. Timothy's family was the center of his world. He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Lenderink; his children, Matt (Lisa) Lenderink and Wendy Clancey (Dayton Stearns); and his beloved grandchildren, Tyler, Kayla, Christopher, and Jacob Lenderink, as well as Maxwell, Chad, and Alayna Clancey. He also leaves behind his brother, Andrew Lenderink; his sister, Judy (Kirk) Van Blaricom; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister-in-law, Janine Lenderink. A memorial gathering to celebrate Timothy's life will be held in the new year.
