Russell A. Lauer, age 86, passed away on May 29, 2008. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kay Lauer. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Michael (Sam) Lauer, Patti (Don) Eldred, Diane (Gary) Van Portfliet; six grand-children, Michelle (Jim) Moore, Jamie (Jamie) Eldred, Brian Lauer, Jeff Lauer, Ryan (Michelle) Van Portfliet, Derek Van Portfliet; three great-grandchildren, Abbey Moore, Brianna and Devon Eldred; and many nephews. Russell proudly served in WWII as a Lieutenant in the 1st Calvary in the Pacific Theater. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, June 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at Coopersville United Methodist Church, 105 N. 68th Ave., Coopersville.
