A Memorial Celebration for Ron will be held Saturday July 21st at 4:00 p.m. at the home of Rick & Denise Knight. 3665 North 36th Street, Galesburg, Michigan. A message by Brother Randy Burnett at 5:00 p.m. followed by food and social time. Please come and join us.

Ronald Lee Otto of Kalamazoo, passed away at his home with his wife, daughters and his brother Jack at his side after a courageous battle with cancer. Ron was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was married to his soul mate, Shirley (Springer) for 47 years. After raising two daughters he adored, he was blessed with four grandsons much to his delight. Ron had amazing sense of humor and thought God placed him here to make people laugh. Ron spent most of his life in the home improvement business. He started out working for his father’s company and the running his own business, Ron Otto’s Home Improvements with the help of his dear friend Rick Knight and others. He was an avid hunter and loved to brag about his adventures. Friday nights you could find him playing poker with close friends from the Sarah Street Poker Club. He was preceded in death by his parents John & Levita Otto. He is survived by his wife Shirley, daughters Cindy (Charlie) Adkins, Windy Otto and grandsons Anthony and Justin Gordon, Travis Judd and Tyler Adkins. He is also survived by his brothers John Jr. (Pat) and James Otto, his sister Linda “Matilda” (Mel) Ochampaugh as well as several aunts, uncles, cousin, nieces and nephews. No formal funeral services are planned. A private memorial for family and friends will be held at a later date.
