Rolinda Moss

With deep sorrow, we pay tribute to the life of Rolinda Moss, who went home to glory on Friday, February 21, 2025. Rolinda was born in Chicago, Illinois to Anna Lois (Maddox) and Nehemiah Barker. In her twenties, she moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan, where she met her husband, Ernest Moss. After their marriage Rolinda opened Solo's Shoppe Unique at 757 West Michigan Avenue. In the early aughts she changed the name to Solo's Bridal and shifted to formalwear and bridalwear. The business flourished for over 30 years, expanding from one storefront to three.

Known affectionately as "Linda," she had a penchant for amusing loved ones with her playful and outgoing personality. After retirement, she carefully decorated her front yard with eye-catching flowers each spring. Above all, she cherished her identity as a Christian. Rolinda is survived by her four children: Robert Smith, Ernest Moss Jr., Sonita Moss, and Lolita Moss. She also leaves a host of extended family and friends. Rolinda was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ernest. Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Monday, March 3 at 10:00AM at Stone Temple Baptist Church, 3622 W. Douglas Blvd, Chicago, IL 60623.
