Roger Earl Ferguson passed away peacefully at home on 1/15/2025. He was born to Evelyn and Earl Ferguson in Pontiac, Michigan on 2/2/1944. He grew up in Waterford and graduated from Waterford Township High School where he played the trumpet and was on the football team. He attended Western Michigan University and worked as a draftsman/engineer, realtor and entrepreneur.

He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Heide Ferguson. He is also survived by his two children Kim (Cliff) Dabrowski and Brad (Chris) Ferguson and was Opa to their children Noah and Grace Dabrowski, Rachel (Anthony) Mersino and Emma Ferguson.

Surviving Roger also is his brother John (Peggy) Ferguson and their children Eric Ferguson and Amy (Matt) Martin.

He was a stepfather to Heide's children Gary (Theresa) Hamlin, Mark Hamlin (Dave Watson) and Tracie (Dr. Todd) White and Opa to their children Sarah Hamlin, Matthew (Jenna) Hamlin, Lindsey (Barrett) Wilkes, Holly (Dustin) Canon, Jesse (Alex) Martin and Taylor and Tanner White.

Roger and Heide moved to Vicksburg in 2006 where he volunteered as a chaplain for Missional Chaplains and was an integral part of the creation of the Tree of Life School. He also spent many hours volunteering for the Department of Health and Human Services. He enjoyed being active by playing golf, tennis, racquetball, water skiing and snow skiing (to name a few) and spent many summers at the family cottage in Tawas. He touched many lives and will be greatly missed by family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 1st at ChapNaz Church of the Nazarene located at 7520 East U Ave in Vicksburg. A gathering will be held at 11:00 a.m., service at Noon with a luncheon to follow.
