GESSLER - Robert James Gessler, aged 63, of Wyoming, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 17, 2009 and went home to be with his Lord. He worked for the City of Grand Rapids for 32 years. Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Sheryl Gessler; children, Drew Gessler, Ginny and Ron Hodgson, Carrie and Jack Swain, Robert M. Gessler, Jim Gessler; seven grandchildren, McKenzie, Katie, Lauren, Bobby, Sam, Brynn, and Kaleb; two great-grandchildren, Audrie, and Bryleigh; his mother, Dorothy Flier; brothers, Jerry Gessler, Jim Flier, and Dan Flier. Funeral services will be held Friday 11:00 a.m. at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4145 Chicago Dr., Grandville. Interment Rosedale Memorial Park. Those who wish may make contributions to help meet the needs of the family.
