Robert Brais

Robert T Brais, age 89, of Bourbonnais, IL passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, IL. Robert was born on February 28, 1924 in St. George, IL the son of Yvon and Jeanette Brais. On October 11, 1947 Robert married Mary L. Fear. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII from 1943 to 1946 in the tank division. He retired after 35 years as a spray painter at A.O. Smith in Kankakee, IL. He was also a member of BVM Catholic Church in Bourbonnais, the VFW, the Kankakee American Legion, enjoyed golf, crossword puzzles, and the Chicago White Sox.

Robert is survived by his wife Mary of Bourbonnais, IL, children; Janet (Steve) Kuipers of Bourbonnais, IL, Thomas (Kathy) Brais of St. Anne, IL,and Diane (Jim) Coryell of Clifton, IL, special grandson Seth Brais and several other grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, brothers; Donald (Joan) Brais of Bourbonnais, IL, and Raymond (Patricia) Brais of Decatur, IL, sisters; Theresa Gee of Rantoul, IL, Sister Yvonne Brais Champaign, IL, and Mary Ann (Phillip) Hughes of Cabery, IL, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Bernard Brais, and a sister Doris Carrigan.

A celebration of Robert’s life memorial mass will be on Friday, May 31, 2013 at 11am at Maternity BVM Catholic Church in Bourbonnais with a gathering from 10 a.m. until the start of the mass also at the church. Graveside services will take place at All Saints Cemetery with full military honors following the service in Bourbonnais, IL.

In lieu of flowers memorials to Maternity BVM Catholic Church would be appreciated.
