Richard “Rick” Mattox Jr., age 58, of Bradley, IL. passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at his home in Bradley. Rick was born on October 15, 1954 in Kankakee, IL. On July 25, 1982 Rick married Diana L. Benoit. He worked as a driver at Shapiro Developmental Center in Kankakee, IL., was a member of the Manteno Sportsman’s Club in Manteno, IL., enjoyed boating, fishing, and most of all enjoyed spending time with his family.
Rick is survived by his wife Diana of Bradley, IL., his children Jeremie Mattox of Lake Havasu, AZ., Seth (Antoinette) Mattox of Seattle, WA., Shawn Mattox of Bourbonnais, IL., and Jill Mattox of Chicago, IL., his father Richard Mattox Sr. and step-mother Gwendolyn Mattox, brother and sisters Constance Mattox of Sante Fe, N.M., Diane (Anthony) Violato of Sun City West, AZ., Terri Mattox of Park Forest, IL., and William Mattox of Bradley, IL., and 5 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother Gladys Spangler.
A time of gathering will take place on Saturday, January 19, 2013 from 9am until the time of service at 11am at Schreffler Life Story Funeral Homes Bourbonnais, IL. Interment will follow at Kankakee Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers memorials to Hospice of Kankakee Valley or to the Family’s wishes would be appreciated.
