Richard George Ender passed away at home on August 30th, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He died at the age of 72 after an extended illness. Born on March 2, 1952, in St. Joseph, Michigan, Richard was the cherished son of Walter and Elizabeth Ender. Richard graduated from Lake Michigan Catholic High School and went on to earn his degree from Western Michigan University. In 1976, he married Mary Catherine Tremmel of Toledo, Ohio, beginning a lifelong partnership filled with love and devotion. For over 40 years, Richard dedicated his career to the transportation industry, working with Roadway, Yellow Freight, and Old Dominion Freight Lines as an Account Manager. His commitment to his profession was matched only by his unwavering devotion to his family. A former parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Portage, Michigan, Richard was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church in Clarklake, Michigan, where he continued to find strength and solace in his faith. Richard's life was defined by his deep love for his family and his passion for hard work. His colleagues and friends will remember him for his witty sense of humor and his unwavering integrity. He leaves behind a legacy of dedication, kindness, and a joyous spirit that will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Richard is survived by his loving wife Mary; his daughter, Rebecca (Joshua) Ender-Brien of Canton, MI; his sons, Ryan (Suzanne) Ender of Redmond, WA, Richard "Rick" (Amber) Ender of Canton, MI, Robert "Rob" (Kellyn) Ender of Breckenridge, CO; nine grandchildren Brady, Bennett, Mia, Patrick, James, Rose, Charlotte, Arabella, and Walter; his sister, Cynthia (Sid) Bradley of Green Valley, AZ. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his mother and father-in-law, Elizabeth and Keith Tremmel; his brothers-in-law, Lawrence Tremmel and Donald Mercurio. A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, September 7th, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Rita Catholic Church, 10516 Hayes Road, Clarklake, MI 49234, preceded by visitation in the church from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow at St. Rita Catholic Church columbarium.
