The Rev. Dewey Van Den Berg, 51, of Holland, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004, at his home following a battle with cancer. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor of science in nuclear engineering and worked for Palisades Nuclear Power Plant for 10 years. He later received his master's degree from Calvin Theological Seminary and his master's of divinity from Western Theological Seminary. He was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church where he served as pastor of outreach and discipleship. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Julie; children, Zachary Van Den Berg of Ontario, Calif., Linde and Joseph Dauner of Ft. Collins, Colo., Caleb Van Den Berg of Ontario, Calif., and Betsy Van Den Berg at home; parents-in-law, Adrian and Eleanor Vander Linde of Kalamazoo; brothers and sisters, Dave and Darlene Van Den Berg of Medford, Ore., Henry and Gert Van Den Berg of Kalamazoo, Margaret Brusse of Kalamazoo, Ken and Cindy Van Den Berg of Richland, Cal and Beth Van Den Berg of Schoolcraft, Doris and Jerry Wolthuis of Hickory Corners; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Marlene and Dave Bierenga of Kalamazoo, Nancy and Craig Corey of Ft. Collins, Colo., and Deb and Mickey Blair of Port Huron. Services are 1 p.m. Monday at Ebenezer Reformed Church, 5166 E. Ottogan St., with the Rev. Todd Krygshseld officiating. Private graveside services will be in Gibson Cemetery. Visiting is 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Notier-Ver Lee-Langeland Funeral Chapel, 315 E. 16th St. Memorials may be made to the Bill Glass Ministry Fund of Ebenezer Reformed Church, or Kids Hope U.S.A.
