Pamela Lynne Schwab Lyster, 83, of Richmond, California, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2025.

Born on March 21, 1941, in Traverse City, Michigan, Pamela was the youngest of four children to Marion Lucille Baynton Schwab and Clifford Erving Schwab. Shortly after her birth, the family relocated to Battle Creek, Michigan, where she was raised alongside her siblings, William Jack, Roland Barry, and Sally Ann.

A graduate of Battle Creek Central High School's Class of 1959, Pamela served as a class senior board member, sang in the a cappella choir, and served on the reunion committee for many years. She followed in her mother's footsteps in nursing and later in sales like her father.

Pamela had a passion for scrapbooking, card making, and interior decorating. She had a green thumb, taking great pleasure working in her yard in landscaping and gardening. Her adventurous spirit led her across the globe, visiting her children in Austria, England, France, Germany, Japan, Switzerland, and Thailand. Over the years, she called many places home, including Kalamazoo, Michigan, Winter Haven, Florida, and Parkersburg, West Virginia, before settling in California.

Above all, Pamela was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her four children: Stephanie (Jerry) Hamilton, Kimberly (Randall) Booth, Todd (Ikuko) Schmidt, and Brett Schmidt. Her special blessings were her five grandchildren: Austin (Victor) Arnold, Taylor Hamilton, Joshua (Holly Ann) Booth, Gabriel Schmidt, and Morgan Schmidt, along with her six great-grandchildren: Pierce Marshall, Anastasia Arnold, Nicolette Arnold, Maximus Arnold, Neil Booth, and Dean Booth. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law, Mary Schwab, beloved niece, Ann Lindsay, along with several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Pamela was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.

In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated, and her final resting place will be at Mount Ever-Rest Memorial Park South, 3941 S. Westnedge Avenue in Kalamazoo, Michigan, at a later date.

Her kindness and adventurous spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
