Misty Byrd

Misty Lynn Byrd, Kalamazoo, MI, died Wednesday morning December 10, 2014 in Jackson, Tennessee. Misty was born February 11, 1975 in South Bend, Indiana a daughter of Edward and Marie (Gruber) Byrd. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of her life before moving away a few years ago. Misty was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents. She is survived by 4 children, Trevor Byrd of Kalamazoo, Acacia Byrd of Paw Paw, and Jewell Byrd and Diane Young both of Kalamazoo; her mothers, Marie and Amber Byrd-Chaney of Kalamazoo; 5 siblings, Troy (Kiya) Byrd of Comstock, Nathan (Christina) Chaney of Gobles, Brandy (Joe) Wilhoit of Grand Rapids, Donnitta Chaney of Paw Paw, and Kara Chaney of Kalamazoo; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 1 o'clock Saturday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Private burial will take place at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the YWCA, Domestic Assault Program.
