Mary Stump

Mary M. "Honey" Stump, age 86, of Paw Paw, MI. Loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away on September 8, 2015 at her home. Mary was born June 11, 1929, in Decatur, MI, the daughter of the late Maynard and Alice (Ryan) Southworth. She graduated from Decatur High School class of 1948. Mary was the great great granddaughter of the first settlers in Van Buren County, Dolphin and Nancy Morris. Mary was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star Mothers in Decatur. On April 12, 1952 Mary was united in marriage to the late Richard "Dick" Stump (former Sheriff of Van Buren County). Surviving are a son, Bryan (Diana) Stump of Paw Paw, daughter, Carla (Brian) Ciesa of Portage, grandchildren; Alison Ciesa, Brigitte (James) Vegter and Brittany Stump, great grandson, Gavin Richard Vegter, great granddaughter, Aleah Rose Vegter, several nieces and nephews and dear friends, Cathie and Pat Burmester, Dixie Schauer and Wendy (Jach) Miller. Mary was preceded in death by her brothers; Carl (Doggie) Southworth, and Myron Southworth. Family will receive friends Thursday, September 10, 2015 from 6-8 p.m., at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where funeral services will be held Friday at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Robert F. Creagan and James Abshagen officiating. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Paw Paw American Legion Post 68.
