Sister Mary Ellen Ward, CSJ, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Borgess Gardens. Sister was born on February 2, 1921 in Aberdeen, SD, daughter of Stuart and Anna Marie (Neault) Ward. Sister is survived by her three sisters, Phyllis Knight and Anne Roberts both of Florida, Carol Jamieson of Westland, MI; three brothers, Eugene (Jan) Ward of Kentucky, David (Jeanine) Ward of Aurora Hills, MI, Jim (Judy) Ward of Raleigh, NC; several nieces and nephews; and the Congregation of Saint Joseph. Friends will be received after 4 PM Thursday, April 3, 2014 with a Vigil Service at 7 PM at Holy Family Chapel, Nazareth, MI; Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, April 4, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Holy Family Chapel with Fr. Michael Howell, celebrant. Memorials may be made to the Sisters of St. Joseph, PO Box 29, Nazareth, MI 49074. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Nazareth, MI.
