Mary Ann Rivard-Martin

Mary Ann Rivard Martin, age 84, of Kankakee, IL. Passed away at Miller Nursing Home March 6, 2012 in Kankakee, Il. She was born October 14, 1927 in Kankakee to Oscar and Elizabeth {Wadley] Lambert. Mary Ann married Richard G. Rivard on September 14, 1946; he passed away November 11, 1969. She was a self employed nurse’s aide for 21 years and also worked at Riverside Home Health Care and Riverside Medical Center. She was very well known throughout the area, as she was the first AVON representative in Bourbonnais and served the entire area for many years. Mary Ann was a graduate of St. Patrick’s [Bishop McNamara] High School and also a long time member of Maternity Catholic Church.

Mary Ann is survived by six sons; Fred [Karen] Rivard of Kankakee, Il. Chuck [Judy] Rivard of Punta Gorda, FL., Joe [Sherrie] Rivard of Naples, FL., Jim [Kay] Rivard of Naples, FL., Tim [Marla] Rivard of Naples, FL., Chris [Lisa] Rivard of Temecula, CA., four daughters; Nancy [Marty] Wheeler of Herscher, IL., Maureen [Randy] Huffman of Bourbonnais, IL., Jennifer [Rob] Lyons of Geneva, IL., Julie [Mike] Memenga of Bourbonnais, IL., twenty grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, one brother, Joseph Lambert and one son-in-law, Scott Johnson.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Maternity BVM Church on Friday, March 23, 2012 at 10:00 a.m with Rev. Jason Nesbit, CSV presiding. Burial will take place immediately following mass at All Saints Cemetery, Bourbonnais, IL.

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley or Maternity BVM Parish.
