Laura Leeser, 86 of Battle Creek died Wednesday, September 5, 2007, at Battle Creek Health System.

She was born in Battle Creek on April 27, 1921, to Warren A. and Elizabeth T. (Huggett) Fenn. Laura was a 1938 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School and attended Michigan State University. In 1965, she graduated from Western Michigan University. She began working in the offices for Pennfield Schools in 1959 and later taught in the Pennfield Elementary Schools for 20 years, until retiring in 1984. After her retirement, she read to the children at Purdy Elementary until last year.

Laura married Lloyd R. Parrott January 14, 1940. She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd on April 25, 1961; and by an infant grandson, Joseph Lloyd Parrott.

Laura was married to Norman C. Leeser on February 21, 1970. Surviving are her husband, Norman; children, Warren (Donna) Parrott of Dunnville, KY, Susan (Erwin) O'Dell of Marshall, Jane (Richard) Zischke of Livonia, Steven (Brenda) Leeser of Hudsonville, Daniel (Patricia) Parrott of Battle Creek, Jackie (David) Baker of Dowagiac, Terry (Peg) Leeser of Franklin, Tina (Gary) Gruner of Madras, OR; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Louise Blades and Elizabeth (Francis) Hiscock both of Pentwater and Sally Bosserd of Marshall.

At the request of the family, friends may call after 6:00 p.m. this evening at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home where they will be received 6:00-8:00 p.m. today and Friday.

Services to celebrate Laura's life will be held at Convis Union United Methodist Church 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 8, 2007.

Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Bellevue.
