Obituary
BARTNICK, LAMBERT "LOU" My dear sweet Dad, Lambert Bartnick, 92, has reunited with our Mom, Mary, who passed ten days ago. They loved and cherished each other for almost 70 years. Dad served in the U.S. Marines during World War II and was in the first wave at Guadalcanal. He told us many amazing war stories, but never complained about the suffering that he experienced. He worked at Michigan Bell Telephone Company and after retirement He and Mom started to travel the World. Along with the souvenirs and goodies from other countries, they never tired of telling us about their adventures. One of the things we all enjoyed the most was Lake Michigan where there were many family gatherings filled with wonderful memories. All of the wonderful nurses, who helped over the past few months, told us that when they needed to be cheered up, they would go see Dad. He told everyone that visited that he loved them and then added a positive comment about them. He truly did love people and nothing made him happier that to see someone smile. My dad, my hero, will be deeply missed. He was a truly great guy and he so cherished our dear mom. Dad will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Diann Bartnick Borton (James Borton), and his sons, Thomas Bartnick and Daniel Bartnick; grandchildren, Scott Thomas Barcheski, Nicholas John Barcheski, Laura (Eric) Christian, and Kristin Livermore; and great-grandchildren, Austin, Chelsea, Lucas, and Benjamin Christian, and Courtney and Zack Barcheski. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary, his dear son, Tim, and his nine brothers and three sisters. Funeral Mass will be 11 AM Friday, March 14, 2014 at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 2275 Diamond Ave. NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505. Fr. George Darling officiating. Interment at Blythfield Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Thursday with a Rosary being prayed 7 PM at the Reyers North Valley Chapel, 2815 Fuller Ave. Grand Rapids, MI and from 10-11 AM Friday at the Church. Memorial contribution may be made to God's Kitchen in Lambert and Mary's honor.
