Kathy Brooks

Kathy Ann Brooks, age 58, of Lawton, MI Loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Borgess Hospital. Kathy was born in Kalamazoo on May 16, 1956, the daughter of the late Edward and Marjorie DeBoer. She was a member of Valley Family Church. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting and spending time at her cottage on Gravel Lake. Kathy loved her family and her grandchildren were the loves of her life. She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, LaMarr Brooks; one daughter, Toni (Aaron) Brown and one son, Travis (Laura) Brooks; two grandchildren, Colby and Cash; two sisters, Karen DeVries and Karol DeBoer; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Kathy was preceded in death by one brother, Eddie DeBoer. Friends may visit with the family from 5 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St., Kalamazoo, MI 49009. Friends may also visit with the family on Thursday from 12 1 p.m., with a memorial service following at 1 p.m. Larry Wolthuis will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family to establish an education fund for her grandchildren.
