Obituary
Judson L. Hagadone, age 89, passed away on December 27, 2024 at his home with his fiancé and family by his side. He was a life long resident of the Kalamazoo area. He enlisted in the Air Force after graduation from Kalamazoo Central in 1953 and later came home to marry Claudean E. Keckler in 1962. They resided in Portage, and he became a firefighter with The City of Kalamazoo, later retiring after 35 years of service.
Upon his retirement, they moved to Comstock township, after inheriting his parents home, where he was able to enjoy his passion as an avid outdoors man. There wasn't a day that he was not hunting, fishing, trapping or using his smoker. He was known for his gifts of smoked fish to friends, family and hunting property owners. Later in life he took up golf and enjoyed time with his buddies on various courses, finding much pleasure in the camaraderie and bragging rights. After 51 years of marriage he became a widower and was lucky in love again, when he met his fiance', Barb Love. They had 5 years together and many adventures, keeping their friends guessing as to what shenanigans they would be up to next. Jud truly loved his life and lived it fully.
Jud was preceded in death by wife, Claudean, parents Edson and Mary Hagadone, brother and wife, Don and Harriet Hagadone. He is survived by his Fiance' Barb Love, neice Jeanne' Gates-Nowak and Greg, nephew Harold Hagadone and Mardelle, and his bonus family Steve and Terri Vandegiessen. In addition surviving are many cherished relatives of Claudean, and close friends Duncan Wisser, Randy Wilkinson, Matt Jacobs and Larry White. Burial will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery on May 16, 2025 at 11:00 am with full military honors.
