Although his life ended much too soon, Jeremy Wood made a significant impact in the lives of those around him. He was accompanied by a strong work ethic and wholeheartedly applied himself to whatever had to be done. Jeremy was a devoted husband and loving father who looked forward to being surrounded by his loved ones, especially while enjoying the fun and the sun out on the lake. A true salesman at heart, he was a people person who was engaging and full of a special charisma that was all his own. Life will never be the same without Jeremy here, but the priceless collection of memories that he leaves behind will be forever cherished by his many friends and loved ones.

Jeremy James was welcomed into the world on February 27, 1976, by his parents, Jon and Rose Mary (Olvitt) Wood. In many ways Jeremy experienced a childhood that was reflective of the times. His earliest years were spent in Vicksburg, and after middle school he and his family moved to South Haven. Jeremy loved playing Rocket football and was very active in several sports. As he grew into a teen it seemed he had the world by its tail.

The bulk of Jeremy’s working days were spent working in car sales at Seeyle Wright. He worked his way up there, becoming the used car manager. Jeremy was great at his work, a natural salesman who could sell anything. He put in more than 15 years of dedicated service at Seeyle Wright.

Even though his work was important, there was nothing more near and dear to Jeremy’s heart than his loved ones. With a desire to establish a life together Jeremy and Dusty were married in 2002. In addition to his wife, he treasured his children, Marquise Gill, Destiny Pearson, Madison Wood, and Jacob Wood. He and Marquise enjoyed going to baseball games together while Jake and Maddie liked bowling with their dad. Jeremy and his kids also went swimming at a nearby lake together as well as riding dirt bikes and quads. When Jeremy lived on a lake his place was the place to be as everyone liked to come to visit and enjoy fun on the lake. His nieces and nephews always brought him joy.

Throughout his life Jeremy was a man of many interests. He was a huge music buff who would listen to just about anything, but he particularly enjoyed Billy Ocean. He had a great memory and when he watched TV or a movie he could tell you the name of the actor and all the roles they had played. Jeremy was also a fan of the University of Michigan and a diehard Alabama fan as well. Jeremy loved cooking and enjoying his sweets; a sugar addict he always had to have ice cream and Koolaid. A stylish dresser, it didn’t matter if it was a game day or a ride on his motorcycle he was always dressed to impress.

Described as sweet, outgoing, and fun-loving, Jeremy Wood was an extraordinary man to know and love. He was warm and approachable, engaging and outgoing with a vibrant spirit that drew others near with ease. Jeremy deeply loved his family and will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.
