Jennifer Burris-Cook

Jennifer "Jenna" Marie Burris-Cook, age 59, of Kalamazoo passed away March 26, 2025. She was born March 23, 1966, in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Robert Joseph Burris and Jolaine Ann (Smith) Kent.

Jenna was known for her deep empathy and kindness, and she was passionate about everything she enjoyed. Her incredible sense of humor and infectious laugh had a way of drawing everyone in, making it impossible not to share in her laughter. A lover of all things Disney, Jenna found magic in simple moments and shared that joy with everyone around her. She loved to sing and dance, enjoyed the outdoors, and adored traveling with her husband, Mike. She especially cherished their trips to Traverse City, where she loved to sit and listen to the water, and Frankenmuth. A voracious reader with a sharp mind and knack for speed reading, Jenna was always eager to pick up the next book.

Jenna was preceded in death by her grandmother, Pauline Smith; uncle, Douglas "Knox" Smith; and several cousins; and her beloved pet bunnies, Spencer, Echo, and Axl.

She is survived by her husband, Michael James Cook; brother, Jonathon (Krystal) Burris; nieces and nephew, Madelyn, Matthew, and Mallory Burris; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 11:00am at St. Martin of Tours Episcopal Church, 2010 Nichols Rd, Kalamazoo, Michigan 49004, where family will greet friends from 10:00am until the start of the service.
