Obituary
Jamie A. Fogel, age 50 of Kalamazoo, died on September 30, 2023. He was born on June 25, 1973, in Suffern, New York, the son of Harvey and Diane (Pollack) Fogel. Jamie grew up in Richland, Michigan, and was the oldest of three children. He graduated from Gull Lake High School in 1992. He was an avid golfer, fisherman and gardener. He loved the outdoors. Jamie attended Ferris State University and Western Michigan University. For 11 years he worked at Little Chick Shoes and for the next 11 years he worked at Petco. He was most recently employed at the West Main Meijer as a Level 4 Pharmacy Technician. He married Linda White on October 20, 2001. They had recently bought land and started a small farm and garden. Jamie loved spending time there with Linda, tending to his crops and animals. He had his Bar Mitzvah at the Temple Beth El in Battle Creek and was a member of the Congregation of Moses. His family includes his wife, Linda Fogel; his parents: Harvey & Diane Fogel; his brother, Jonah (Elizabeth) Fogel; his sister, Devra (Ryan) Schmitt; his mother-in-law, Millie Chew; his brothers-in-law: Jad (Jennifer) White and Rayford Chew; his nieces and nephews: Henry, June, Lilia, Daniel, Joshua, Jadyn, and Jacob; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Bradley Reynolds White.
The family will greet friends on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at 1:00 PM at the funeral service at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street, officiating by Rabbi Spivak and Rabbi Goldman.
