Helen L. Trout, age 90, of Bourbonnais, IL. passed away on Friday, April 20, 2012 at Manteno Springs in Manteno, IL. A time of gathering will take place on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 from 4pm-8pm at Schreffler Life Story Funeral Homes Bourbonnais Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at 10am at River Valley Christian Fellowship in Bradley, IL. Rev. David Hanners will officiate and the eulogy will be given by her son Paul Trout. Interment will follow at mound Grove Gardens of Memory in Kankakee, IL. In lieu of flowers memorials to the Church of God in Manteno, IL. would be appreciated.

Helen was born May 23, 1921 in Carmi, IL. the daughter of Stella and Alfred Rusher. On September 4, 1940 in Carmi, IL. she married Herschel Trout. She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-laws; Richard and Bette Trout of Blytheville, AR., Janice Trout of Bradenton, FL., David and Virginia Trout of Ashkum, IL., Paul and Patricia Trout of Quincy, MA., and Mark and Dawn Trout of Marysville, TN., two daughters and one son-in-law Stella Berry of Bourbonnais, IL. and Donna and Dan Trout of Sand Springs, OK., a sister Louella Brown of Palistine, MN., 16 grandchildren, 32 ½ great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Helen is preceded in death by her husband Herschel, a son Bill Trout, granddaughter Sandra Trout, great granddaughters Angel Lynn and Shelbie Madison and a sister Betty June Erickson. She enjoyed growing flowers, reading and quilting, and always had a wonderful flower garden. Helen was a member of the Church of God Manteno, IL. where she was a pianist and Sunday School teacher for many years. Each quilt that she quilted will be cherished by family members for many years. Though Helen enjoyed all of the above, her biggest JOY was her FAMILY!
