DE VRIES - Harvey DeVries, Jr., aged 82 of Jenison, formerly of Grand Rapids, went to be with his Lord on Thursday evening, August 20, 2009. Harvey was an Airman in the U.S. Navy during World War II. An avid golfer, he loved to golf, especially with the Great Lakes Seniors Golf Association. He was preceded in death by his wife, Greta Ann, his brother and sister-in-law, John and Margaret DeVries, and a brother-in-law, Dick DeVrou. Surviving are his children, Dean (Cynthia) DeVries, Dale (Karen) DeVries; his grandchildren, Laura (David) Vander Waal, Ryan DeVries, Michael DeVries, and Katherine DeVries; his great grandsons, Hugo and Owen Vander Waal; his sister, Celia (Robert) Kaat; his sister-in-law, Shirley DeVrou; several nieces and nephews. Harvey's family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, August 24, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Calvary Church, 777 East Beltline NE, where a memorial service will begin at 3 p.m. in the Chapel with Rev.
