SCHWEITZER (Alpine Twp) - (Please note place of Visitation) Gloria Louisa Schweitzer-Pitsch, age 82, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2008. She was born August 20, 1925 in Alpine Twp. to Oscar and Eva Pitsch. She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Tama Eve Brautigam; granddaughter, Kailey Schweitzer; brother, Edward Pitsch; sister, Lela Dunneback; brothers-in-law, Edward and Erma Schweitzer, Vernon Yost, Robert Trudell, Arthur Schweitzer. Gloria is survived by her husband of 60 years, James F. Schweitzer; children, Jim Schweitzer, Barb and Dan Makowski, Terry and Deb Schweitzer, Kim and Larry Amond, Ken and Peggy Schweitzer; grandchildren, Bob Makowski, Shari and Ryan Latunski, Karen and Greg Juno, Andrea, Stephanie, and Brian Schweitzer, Sara and Rick Jesser, Andrew Brautigam, Jen, Erin and Sam Amond; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Adrianne Latunski, Charlotte Juno; sister, Lila Pitsch; brother-in-law, Jack Dunneback; sister-in-law, Agnes Pitsch; brother-in-law, Fred and Jan Schweitzer; sisters-in-law, Fran Yost, Mary Schweitzer, Margaret Klein, Elizabeth Trudell; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Gloria enjoyed working at the Comstock Park Post Office for 35 years. She spent the ensuing years caring for her mother and her daughter. In her free time she enjoyed gardening. Mass of the Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, April 8, 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Alpine with Fr. Dan DePew Celebrant. Interment in Holy Trinity Cemetery. Friends may meet the family at the Church on Tuesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where the Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday evening. Mrs. Schweitzer will lie in state on Wednesday morning at the church one hour prior to the Mass.
