Faye Hines

Faye M. (Dettmann) Hines, age 78, of Indianapolis, IN, formerly of Vicksburg, MI. Faye passed away unexpectedly Wednesday morning January 8, 2014. She was born April 12, 1935 in Caledonia, MI the daughter of Carl and Nora (Crans) Dettmann. Faye graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1953. On October 16, 1953 she was united in marriage to Merlin Hines. Faye was employed at Vicksburg Community Schools for 28 years, as a bus driver, retiring in 1995. Surviving are her children, M. Thomas (Deb) Hines, Jr. of Salem, OR, Lynne (Robert) Price of Vicksburg, Carla (David) Diggs of Indianapolis, IN, and Mary Pennington, of Ionia, MI; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Dettmann of Carthage, MS; one sister, Nancee (Terry Newell) Beach of Baldwin, MI; several nieces and nephews. Faye was preceded in death by her beloved spouse Merlin; two grandsons, Jason Hines and Brandon Bowman: one brother, John Dettmann; one sister, Arline Semenczuk and their spouses and one sister-in-law. Cremation has taken place. Please join the family in a celebration of Faye's life on Saturday, January 18, 2014 from 1 - 4 at the South County Community Services, 101 S. Main St. Vicksburg.
