Ella Watson

Ella M. Watson, age 93, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away Sunday afternoon, February 1, 2015, at Bronson Methodist Hospital. She was born on April 28, 1921 in Belding, Michigan. On July 12, 1946, Ella was united in marriage to Robert B. Watson. Named Teacher of the Year for Kalamazoo County for the 1979/80 school year, she was a beloved Parchment Public Schools teacher for 25 years until her retirement in 1982. An avid watercolor artist, she was a longtime volunteer and supporter of the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts as well. Surviving are her husband of 69 years, Robert B. Watson; their two daughters, Sarah (David) Yentz and Roberta Wunderlich, both of Ann Arbor; four grandchildren, Dr. Sarah Yentz, Dr. Jeffrey Yentz, Stephan Wunderlich, and Britta Wunderlich. An exemplary mother and wife, Ella was deeply committed to her family, and nothing gave her more pleasure than to have them all around her for celebrations. Honoring Ella's wishes, there will be no public service or visitation. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts. Arrangements were entrusted to Langeland Family Funeral Homes.
