Deanne (Dee Dee) Neal, 54, of Bradley passed away Tuesday, September 2, at Presence St. Mary’s Hospital. She was born April 21, 1960 in Kankakee, the daughter of Ron and Janice (Collette) Wilson.

Deanne married her best friend Richard Neal in Kankakee. Mrs. Neal was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and also an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley. She belonged to Agape Sisterhood as a Leukemia survivor, and was actively involved in fundraisers which raised cancer awareness around the community. Deanne was a selfless person that always put her needs before her own.

Family was the centerpiece to her to her world. Her children were her pride and joy. The bond that she shared with her grandchildren became her daily inspiration and motivation in life.

Deanne was blessed with a special group of friends in Georgia. They provided her with daily encouragement, laughter, and fellowship. After a 20 year friendship Deanne was able to visit them for the first time this past summer.

Surviving are her husband, Richard Neal, her son, Joshua Kerouac (Fiance' Michelle Ericson) of Chicago, daughter Breanne Neal-Taylor (Shad Taylor) of Bradley and two grandchildren Kaiden and Gianna Taylor. She is also survived by her sisters and brothers, Nan Lewerke of Colorado, Dan Wilson of Kankakee, Rob (Andrea) Wilson of Florida, Tim Wilson of Florida, Sandra (Matt) Furrow of Kankakee and Jeremy (Amanda) Wilson of Plainfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Deanne will never be forgotten and her love will continue to reach down to us all and touch the one place she focused on the most..."The Heart".

There will be a gathering for family and friends from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at the Schreffler Life Story Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 10 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley.

Memorials may be made to the family’s wishes.
