Life Story / Obituary

Cheryl Lyn Kelly, Born September 15, 1953 was an incredibly unselfish person. A loving wife, mother, aunt and grandmother who will be greatly missed, by her husband Tim Kelly, daughter Christi and grandson Timmy. Mother and father Don and Joyce Liddell (Sebring, Florida). Brother Fred and sister-in-law Heather Liddell and their four children. Aunt, uncles and numerous cousins. Also survived by her loving in-laws John and Margaret Kelly, Sister-in-law of Connie and Steve Whitmer.

After completing Cooper elementary school in Westland, Cheryl continued her education at Franklin High School in Livonia, Michigan where she graduated in 1971 with Honors. As time passed on after graduation, Cheryl was haunted by her desire to help people, and finally decided a career in nursing would allow her to apply her talent both with academics and with working with people. After much thought, Cheryl made the decision to attend nursing school where she acquired an Associate degree. As fate would have it, while attending nursing school Cheryl and her daughter Christi were living across the street from a charming young man named Tim. It didn't take long before Cheryl noticed the nice young man and decided to ask him over for dinner. A resourceful woman, Cheryl sent Christi across the street with a plate of food and had her ask Tim if he would like to have dinner with her and her mother. Naturally Tim could not resist such a sweet invitation, and it was not long before loved bloomed between the couple and within a year they decided to marry. After taking their vows on August 10, 1983 the couple set off for a romantic honeymoon in Hawaii. This trip along with a Mediterranean cruise the lovebirds took in 1999 would remain a highlight of Cheryl's life.

It is not surprising that Cheryl remembered her time spent with Tim so fondly. Cheryl always regarded Tim as the love of her life, and next to her grandson Timmy, few could compare. Timmy brought countless hours of joy into Cheryl's life, and though she always regretted that she would not be around to see him grow up, it is obvious that she treasured every moment she was able to spend with her grandson. Cheryl cherished her role as a grandmother and although she worked in and out of the food industry as a manager, she always regarded her real work and joy as raising Timmy.
