Charles "Ray" Davis

Passed away Friday afternoon, February 21, 2014 in Rochester, MI. He was born October 7, 1927 in Evergreen, NC to the late Clyde and Stella Davis. Charles "Ray" was united in marriage to the late Lucy Davis on December 23, 1959. During WWII, he served Honorably with the U.S. Air Force. Ray enjoyed life and loved to play any kind of games such as golf, especially with his children and grandchildren. He was also a deacon of First Baptist Church in Portage. Surviving Ray are his children, Regina "Reggie" (Dalton) Frensley of Nashville, TN, Gary (Lori) Davis of Schoolcraft, Charlotte "Char" (Steve) Ripka of Rochester, MI and Charles "Chuck" Ray Davis, Jr. of Dallas, TX; seven grandchildren, Alexandra (Carter) Sundermann, Carly Frensley, Justin Ripka, Claudia Ripka, Garrett Davis, Logan Davis, Charles Davis, III; brothers, Tommy, Wilton, Lloyd; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held 11:30 Thursday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Interment will be in Fort Custer National Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association or the Kalamazoo Humane Society.
