Bertand Hewett

Bertrand L. Hewett, aged 83, of Grand Rapids, died Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at Trillium Woods. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; son, Richard; and son-in-law, Rick Sines. Surviving are his fiancé, Mary Jane Dockeray; his daughters, Judy (Terrence) Kerwin, Susan Hewett, Ginny Sines; brother, John Hewett; sister, Joan Ronk; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Bertrand, a WWII Veteran, was ACTIVE as a volunteer at Blandford Nature Center, The Grand Rapids Audubon Club, Irish Heritage Society, Association for the Blind Support Group and Land Conservancy of West Michigan. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2008 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 2275 Diamond Ave. NE, with The Rev. Victor Kynam of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made to Blandford Nature Center.
