Obituary
Mr. Bemis H. Poll, age 88 years, of Holland, and formerly of Fremont, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday evening, July 8, 2013. He was born on May 20, 1925, to Bert and Rena (Haveman) Poll in Fremont, where he lived until moving to Holland in 2002. Bemis had been a member of First Christian Reformed Church in Fremont, and Noordeloos Christian Reformed Church in Holland. He had been employed by Cook & Hager Feed Mill in Fremont until his retirement in 1987. On Jan. 17, 1947, he married Mary E. Luchies, and she preceded him in death on Nov. 1, 2012. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Beatrice Poll, Julia Breuker, and Helene Kolk; and by his brothers, Harvey Smalligan and J.B. Poll. Survivors include four children, Nancy (Jack) Musselman of Manville, Texas, Ken (Judy) Poll of Holland, Dave (Sandy) Poll of Holland, Steve (Laurie) Poll of Zeeland; nine grandchildren; and 11 greatgrandchildren; and his sister-in-law, Lucy Poll of Fremont.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 12, 2013, at First Christian Reformed Church in Fremont, 721 Hillcrest Drive, with Pastor Ronald DeYoung officiating. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont. Visitation will be at Yntema Funeral Home in Zeeland from 6-8 PM on Thursday, and at First Christian Reformed Church in Fremont from 10-11 AM on Friday. Suggested Memorial: Camp Geneva in Holland.
