Arthur Cote, age 90, of Kankakee, IL. passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at his home with family by his side. Arthur was born on July 28, 1921 to Julius Cote and Leaha Chayer. He married Marjorie Pelkey on May 10, 1953 who passed away April 23, 2000. Arthur was in the United States Army where he proudly served his country. Mr. Cote worked at Conrad’s Bakery where he was a cake decorator for twenty four years. He also worked at J.R. Short Milling for eleven years and eventually that is where he retired. Arthur enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling, traveling, and cake decorating.

He is survived by; one son; Steven (Carol) Cote of Momence, IL., one sister; Evelyn Allis of Momence, IL., one son in law; Larry Thompson of Kankakee, IL., many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by; his wife, one daughter; Kathie Thompson, one son; Oscar Cote, seven brothers and three sisters, and one daughter in law Gladys Phillips.

A gathering time for family and friends will be Friday, March 30, 2012 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 10:30 a.m. at the Kankakee Chapel of the Schreffler Life Story Funeral Homes. Rev. Larry Schreffler will officiate. Burial will take place following the service at Kankakee Memorial Gardens, Aroma Twp.
