Theresa A. Johnson

Theresa Adele Johnson November 28, 1955- April 15, 2024 Theresa, age 68, passed away at home, peacefully on Monday afternoon after multiple serious health issues. Surrounded by loved ones, but most importantly welcomed into the arms of Jesus.

Theresa was born on November 28, 1955 in Saginaw Michigan to Albertina Baker & Erzell Johnson. At a young age she was adopted by Phillip and Ruby Willams, she was one of six children. Theresa faced many hardships growing up, but she didn’t let them define her. She was the epitome of strength. Overcoming obstacles while raising children on her own.

Theresa moved to Holland in ‘94 for better opportunities and a safer place for her family. She worked as a CNA at Freedom Village for several years, then eventually returned to school at GRCC to obtain her nursing degree. She then worked at Heartland of Holland, Providence Healthcare in Zeeland and most recently Medilodge of Holland.All while building friendships that would last a lifetime.

Theresa had such a genuine nurturing spirit. The love she shared was real. And the hugs she embraced you with were warm and motherly. Theresa always had faith in the Lord, her home church was Cornerstone Tabernacle for the past 13 years. Even in her most trying times, praying for her family was a priority. God remained faithful and carried His daughter up until the very end.

Theresa was preceded in death by her adoptive parents, Phillip and Ruby Williams; grandmother, Susie Wells; great-grandmother, Mary Wells; brother, Vernell Baker; nephew, Larry “Punkin” Dottery II, as well as, several cousins and friends.

Theresa is Survived by her children, Lashone Johnson, Darrell (Kathy) Johnson, Eric Johnson, Whysper Johnson; grandchildren, Jamar Grainger, Lashani Baker, Willie Baker Jr, Darrell Johnson Jr, Drevon Johnson, Davin Johnson, Elias Cruz, Xavion Johnson, Zelia Johnson; her mother, Albertina Baker; siblings, Katrina, Denise, Shirley, Sharyn (Larry) Dottery; her nieces, Dawn Brooke Williams, Tina Crockett; and nephews, London Dottery and Jelani Baker, as well as many more!

A funeral service to celebrate Theresa's life and legacy will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, April 25, at Cornerstone Tabernacle, 781 Lincoln Ave, Holland. The family will receive visitors from 10:00am to 10:45am prior to the service at Cornerstone. Pastor Douglas Wright presiding. Interment will be at North Holland Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the auspices of the Northwood Chapel.
