Obituary
Mr. Steve F. Szymanski, age 86, passed away at Mercy Hospital August 1, 2007. He was born May 12, 1921 in Nirvana, MI to Frank and Rosalie (Wach) Szymanski. He moved to Muskegon as a child and graduated from Muskegon High School. Steve served in the U.S. Navy during W.W.II. He married the former Edna M. Bullman in Muskegon on May 15, 1946. Mr. Szymanski was employed at Westran Corp. for 44 years until retiring in 1985. He was a former member of the Civilian Conservation Corps and Muskegon Bowman's Association. He enjoyed playing golf and spending time with friends at Mr. Quick in North Muskegon. Steve was an avid outdoorsman and bow hunter. He is survived by his wife, Edna; 2 sons, Steven C. Szymanski of North Muskegon and Stanley K. (Mary Jo) Szymanski of Holland; 1 daughter, Nancy A. Szymanski of North Muskegon; 2 brothers, Anthony (Phyllis) Oza and Leon (Lorraine) Szymanski both of Muskegon; and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, John and Walt; and 2 sisters, Rose and Fran. The FUNERAL SERVICE will be held Saturday 10 A.M. at Northside Bible Church, 1937 N. Whitehall Rd., with Rev. Lowell Wood presiding. MILITARY RITES under the auspices of the Muskegon County Council of Veterans will follow the services at church. INTERMENT: Hungerford Cemetery. VISITATION: Friday 5-8 P.M. at The Lee Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. Norton Shores, MI 49444 231-798-1100 and also one hour prior to the service at church.
