Obituary
TRAPP-ROSE - "Hunny" or "Lori" Trapp Rose, of Grand Rapids, died March 23, 2007 after a temporary 10 month stay at Porter Hills Village. Prior to Porter Hills, she lived in Georgetown Village Condominiums. She was born on August 15, 1918 and was a life long resident of Grand Rapids. She graduated from Ottawa High School and went on to win the Miss Grand Rapids title. She also competed in the Miss Michigan competition. After WWII, "Hunny" was married to Lee Trapp for 25 years and lived in East Grand Rapids. While married, she was a devoted mother, a faithful friend to many, a talented homemaker, a dedicated volunteer in various organizations, an enthusiastic bridge and poker player and an avid sports enthusiast. She was an active member and volunteer at Fountain Street Church and DA Blodgett. She was also the wife of the late "Bub" Rose and worked along side him at Rose's Popcorn Shop in East Grand Rapids for many years. She loved the water and cherished her time on both Reeds Lake and Silver Lake. She will be dearly missed and always loved by her daughter and grandchildren, Sally Trapp, Jessie Paltell and Eric Paltell of Annapolis, Maryland; her sister, Dorothy Davis; her nephews, Jim Davis, Tom Davis and Dan Trapp; and her many friends of Grand Rapids will all miss her, too. A celebration of life memorial service will be held in the chapel at the Fountain Street Church on July 12th at 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Porter Hills Village Employee Christmas Fund to support the wonderful "angels" who cared so lovingly for her, 4450 Cascade, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49546.
