John Robert Heath, age 75, of Fulton, MI died Wednesday Oct. 28, 2015 at his home following a long illness. He was born near Fulton on April 15, 1940 the son of John C. and Pansy I. (Knauss) Heath and was a lifetime resident of the area. He graduated from Vicksburg High School with the Class of 1959. John was married to Shirley Ann Smith on Aug. 13, 1960. John had worked for Lee, Simpson-Lee, and Fox River Paper Company in Vicksburg for over 35 years. He was a volunteer firefighter for Wakeshma Township for several years. John enjoyed playing basketball, hunting, fishing, mushrooming, and the great outdoors. He had a great sense of humor, and played many practical jokes on co-workers and family. John is survived by his wife, Shirley; three sons, Steven (Gail) Heath of Three Rivers, Randall (Elaine) Heath of Portage, and Cully Heath of Battle Creek; seventeen grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, John Heath, Jr.; a brother, Ernest; and by two sisters, Donna Hartman and Betty DeMerell. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has been conducted. A memorial service will be held 11AM Saturday November 14, 2015 at the Fulton Christian Church with Pastor Noah Miller officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to services at the church. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
