John De Kraker age 97, of Holland, died Tuesday, January 8, 2008, at an area care center.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann, in 2004; a daughter, Carol, in 1944, and a son, James, in 1950. John was a member of Third Reformed Church where he was very active in the life of the church when he was younger. He worked for Armour Meat Co. for 17 years and as an auditor for the State of Michigan for eight years.

He is survived by his daughter, Karen and Merle Beyer of Hamilton; grandchildren, Kendall Beyer of Overisel, Denise and Cliff Haverdink of Holland and Laurie Windemuller of Hamilton; five great-grandchildren; brother, Donald De Kraker of Saugatuck; in-laws, Mrs. Stuart (Harriet) Schaftenaar of Holland, Mrs. Anthony (Angeline) Westerhof of Holland, Mrs. Nelson (Evelyn) Westerhof of Holland; several nieces and nephews.

We would like to thank Rev. Unzicker and the family of Third Reformed Church for the support given our father and for making Third Reformed Church a place he loved to call his second home.

Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2008 at Notier-Ver Lee-Langeland Funeral Chapel, 315 E. 16th St., Holland with Rev. William Unzicker officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Friday. Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Holland.
