Janet Hamay

anet Louise Hamay, 80, of Paw Paw, passed away Monday, November 25, 2024, at Maple Lake Assisted Living in Paw Paw.

She was born April 6, 1944, in Coloma, Michigan, the daughter of and Carl and Emma (Behnke) Skibbe.

Janet retired from the United States Postal Service where she worked as a carrier for 32 years. She loved to travel around the United States and go sight-seeing. She especially looked forward to trips to the casino. Janet took pride tending to her garden, flower beds and bird watching.

She was united in marriage to Walter Hamay who preceded her in death December 2, 2013.

She is survived by her two sons, Jon (Michelle Wood) Hamay of Mears, MI and James (Marie) Hamay of Jackson, MI; four grandchildren, Hannah (Stephen) Barnes, McKinzie Hamay, Hunter and Colton Hamay; two sisters, Wanda Ray, Ruth (Phil) Coulson; brother, Frank (Fran) Skibbe.

In addition to her parents and husband, Janet was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Rogel and her brother, Lester Skibbe.

Family and friends are invited to visit Friday, December 6, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home, 502 West Michigan Ave., Paw Paw. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Glendale Cemetery.
