BOGNER (Cedar Springs) - Mrs. Inez E. (Richards) Bogner, age 69, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2008. According to her children, Inez grew up in Rogers City and was a "city slicker". While in high school, she sang in the choir and was active in her church. She attended John Brown University in Arkansas, and it was there that she met her first husband, Larry English. She met Ivan E. Bogner in 1968, and they were married on June 13, 1970 in Grand Rapids; later renewing their vows in 1984 at Our Lady of Consolation Church. Her children became a blended family with Inez becoming active in her children's schools, where she helped with reading and tutoring. After a move in 1974 to Cedar Springs, she kept herself involved in the schools and helped wherever she was needed. She and Ivan had a mini farm where they raised goats, chickens, and boxer pups. Her greatest achievement was being with her children and watching and helping them with success in their own life and with their families. With Ivan she enjoyed every kind of dancing, but especially enjoyed the polka. She is survived by her children, Karen and Raymond Stuthard, Colleen and Dennis White, all of Cedar Springs, Gerard and Nancy Bogner of Pierson, Nora and Steve Sokolowski of Sand Lake, and Alan and Darlene Bogner of Newaygo; 22 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren with the anticipated arrival of two more; brother, Douglas and Mary Anna Richards; many nieces and nephews; and in-laws, Mrs. Rita Bogner, Mrs. Eddie Bogner, Mrs. Helen Bogner, Mrs. Madonna Bogner, Mr. Louis Slocum, Mr. Paul DeLong, Mrs. Marian Richards, Mrs. Delores Richards, and Mrs. Carol Richards. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan and 12 brothers and sisters. The Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Bogner will be offered on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Mary Queen of Apostles Church in Sand Lake with Rev. Joseph W. Kenshol presiding. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery. The Rosary will be prayed on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
