Harvey Lobert

LOBERT (Jenison) - Mr. Harvey Lobert, age 67, much loved husband, father, grandpa and friend, went to be with Jesus on March 4, 2010. A kind, giving man, he volunteered at Love in the Name of Christ in Hudsonville and the food pantry at St. Pius X Catholic Church. The first words out of his mouth on the phone or otherwise were, "What can I do for you today?" He loved his God, his wife, and his family. He enjoyed going up to his hunting "shack" in Remus where he was born and raised. He also loved traveling with his wife, especially to Hawaii and the western states. He was a trucker for 35 years, retiring from Georgia Pacific. He is survived by his wife and "kindred spirit", the former Ruth Doerr; children, Kim Lobert of Jenison, Kelly and Cindy Lobert of Walker, Chris and Ann Lobert of Jenison, Lori and Eric Beyer of Jenison; grandchildren, Caitlin Beyer, Madison Lobert, Ryan Lobert, Mason Harvey Lobert; brothers and sister, Tony (Joyce) Lobert, Larry (Carol) Lobert, Diana (Chuck) Kellogg; nieces and nephews; and the Doerr family. His infant son, Robbie, his brother, Vincent, and sister, Phyllis Richmond, his parents, Bill and Rose Lobert, and his step-father, Henry Daniels preceded him in death. The Funeral Mass for Mr. Lobert will be offered on Monday, March 8, 2010 at 11:00 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, with Rev. Chris Rouech presiding. The Funeral Vigil will be held on Sunday evening at 8:30 at the church. Interment in Georgetown Township Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3937 Wilson Ave. SW, Grandville, MI 49418 on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and prior to the Mass on Monday.
