Harold George Ritsema left his home here to enter his heavenly home on February 9, 2013. Harold had been ailing for some time. His work career consisted of spot welding for Clarage Fan Company. He retired 40 years later as a chief draftsman. He was a WW II Veteran who served as a Medic in the European theatre; he also served as a pianist in several churches. April 21, 1944 marked his wedding to May Thompson of Kalamazoo, who survives him. To this union was born five children, Arla, twin boys John and Larry, James and Alvin. Larry lived two days and Arla 58 years. One of Harold's enjoyments was watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow. Harold was born to Peter and Jenny Ritsema now deceased, along with his brother Paul; and sisters Mildred and Angela. Visitation will be held Thursday 9:30 AM until time of Funeral at 11:00 AM, BLOOMINGDALE CHAPEL, D.L. Miller Funeral Home, Rev. Walter Gerstung officiating. Interment will take place in Grand Prairie Cemetery, Kalamazoo Township at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lawrence Bible Baptist Church or to Dean Brown of Rural Bible Mission.
