Alice R. Burch, 92, of Kalamazoo, formerly of Portage, passed away Monday, November 25, 2024 at Upjohn Heritage Community in Kalamazoo. Alice was born May 7, 1932 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Lawrence and Lydia (Savoie) Seymour. She was a 1950 graduate of St. Augustine Catholic High School. After graduation, Alice went to work for Gibson Guitar. Later she went on to work for St. Mary Catholic Church in Kalamazoo as the secretary. On April 30, 1955 in Kalamazoo, Alice was united in marriage to John Burch, who preceded her in death on September 21, 2011. She was a member of St. Mary Parish earlier in life, and later was a member of St. Ambrose Parish. Alice and John enjoyed traveling, visiting California and everywhere in between. She also enjoyed going to the casino with her best friend, Carolyn, and was very lucky! She enjoyed camping at Silver Lake and also played the organ.

Alice is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Ralph) Henry of Maricopa, AZ; three grandchildren, Trevor (Sandra) Sorensen, Taylor (Tori) Sorensen and Andrew Henry; two great grandchildren, Maverick and Mila Sorensen; one sister, Sr. Denise Seymour; her best friend, Carolyn Kanaan; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers and three sisters.

Family and friends may gather from 10 – 11 AM Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 1628 E. G Avenue, Parchment, MI 49004, where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM, Fr. Albert Kemboi, celebrant. She will be laid to rest next to John at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta. Arrangements are by Adams – Redmond Funeral Home, 4100 S. Westnedge Ave., Kalamazoo, MI 49008. (269) 343-6156.
