HARTOG, MRS. ADRIANA J. (Mother of Joanne Bishop) Grand Rapids, MI Mrs. Adriana J. Hartog, age 84, went to be with her Lord Tuesday morning, January 17, 2006 in Grand Rapids, MI. She was born September 20, 1921 in Grand Rapids, MI to Cornelius & Rena (Ballast) Wisse. As a young girl she moved to Prospect Park, NJ; and then moved back to the Grand Rapids area 10 years ago, where she has since resided. She had served as Secretary of the Eastern Christian School Association in North Haledon, NJ for 25 years prior to her retirement in 1990. She was a member of Ivanrest Christian Reformed Church. On February 14, 1946 she married John Hartog, and he survives her along with 4 children, John (Ruth) Hartog of Gallup, NM, Joanne Bishop of Norton Shores, Janice (Kevin) Streelman of Charlotte, NC and Judith Hartog & friend Maureen Denner of Kentwood, MI; 9 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Rev. Donald P. (Ethel) Wisse of Wyckoff, NJ; 2 sisters, Mildred (Garry) Link of North Haledon, NJ and Elsie (Rev. William) Schafer of Jenison, MI; 1 brother-in-law, Simon Hartog of Whiting, NJ and 1 sister-in-law, Nell Hartog of Wyckoff, NJ. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Greg Bishop, June 24, 2005. SERVICES will be 11 AM Saturday at Raybrook Chapel (2121 Raybrook SE) with the Revs. Donald P. Wisse & William Schafer officiating. Burial will be in Norton Cemetery, Norton Shores, MI. VISITATION with Adriana's family will be one-hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, you are asked to consider Eastern Christian Children's Retreat, or Rehobeth Christian School or Hospice of Holland Home (Grand Rapids).
