Megan Yin

YIN, Megan Elizabeth Burness Of Kalamazoo Megan died of breast cancer on July 10, 2008 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence. Megan was born November 7, 1970 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Stephen Burness and Patricia Huston. She graduated with honors from the University of Michigan in Art History. She earned a MA in Art History and Museum Studies from Case Western Reserve University. Megan was an award winning museum educator at Oberlin College, Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh, PA, and the Grand Rapids Art Museum. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Jean Benedict Huston and Robert A. Huston; her paternal grandfather, Carl G. Burness; her Aunt; Janet Burness, and nieces, Nora and Charlotte Dowd. On September 22, 2001 she was united in marriage with Jordan Yin who survives. Also surviving is her daughter, Evan Elizabeth Yin of Kalamazoo; her parents, Patricia Huston of Kalamazoo and Stephen Burness of Kalamazoo; paternal grandmother; Ruth Burness of Kalamazoo, and her sister Amanda (Gerald) Dowd and nephew Joseph Dowd all of Chicago, IL. A memorial service to honor her life will be held 2 pm on Friday July 25, 2008 at Stetson Chapel followed by a reception at the Light Fine Arts building, both on the campus of Kalamazoo College.
